Schedule

Week beginning 9th January:I have created my blog on the web page www.blogger.com and started to look at the conventions of other magazines that I owned and on the Internet.

Week beginning 16th January: I started to analyse magazine front covers, contents pages and double page spreads from music magazines on Microsoft Word. I used text boxes and arrows to portray my thoughts and make it clear where the conventions I was talking about were located on the magazine page.

Week beginning 23rd January: I started planning my magazine by drawing some ideas of the pages and also of the particular shots I was going to use. I thought about my target audience and how I could appeal to them through my magazine.

Week beginning 30th January: After planning the look of the magazine, I decided to plan the content of my magazine, including the double page spread article and what would be featured in the contents of my magazine. I also started to think about things such as the house colours of the magazine.

Week beginning 6th February:
I experimented with a basic camera to carry out a preliminary task, this will give me the chance to use Photoshop to edit my photos and develop my knowledge of the techniques I will be using for my final project.

Week beginning 13th February:I added effects (Drop shadows etc) to my preliminary task along with text, which I then also added effects to in order to make it stand out. This allowed me to get more of a feel for Photoshop and would make it easier to do my final project as I would already have knowledge of Photoshop that I perhaps would not have had otherwise, which could have negatively effected my magazine, as certain techniques that would improve the look of the magazine would not be known to me.
Also, when in Germany on a school trip, I conducted a photo shoot for my contents page. I gave my model (Daniel Parkin) a bandanna to keep with the conventions of my style of music.

Week beginning 20th February: I finished writing my double page spread article and decided what band names and articles I would use for the front cover and contents pages.

Week beginning 27th February: I started looking for suitable fonts for my magazine title and headlines on www.dafont.com

Friday 1st March: Photo shoot for DPS and contents with Daniel Monaghan, location: St Bede's Lanchester, estimated time: 1 Hour.
This photo shoot will take place at 11:20; allowing a lot of natural light into the shot, but because it is indoors, the light can be altered in order to make it suitable for my magazine. I had to use a microphone and pop shield as props to give the impression my model was in a recording studio.

Monday 5th March: Photo shoot for Front Cover with Liam Hughes, location: St Bede's Lanchester, estimated time: 30 minutes. This photo shoot will take place behind a stage where it is dark, so this shoot will be almost entirely artificially lit. I will use pink sunglasses as a prop, this will allow me to reflect the artificial light off the eyes of my model and therefore create a similar effect as I am putting on the font for the main headline on the front cover.
Photo shoot for contents page with Ryan Brown & Rebecca Todd-Wilkinson, location: St Bede's Lanchester, estimated time: 30 minutes. This photo shoot will take place outside, so, in contrast to the previous photo shoot, this will be almost entirely lit by natural light.
